Taco Sombrero first came to Mississippi in 1979. Our goal was to introduce quality Mexican food to Gulfport in a quick and affordable “fast-food” format That goal has not changed in the past two decades.
Many of you might not realize that we make our food fresh, right here in the store. It is not pre-cooked, pre-packaged or shipped in from somewhere else. Our chili sauce, re-fried beans, taco meat, quacamole, and hot sauce are all prepared from scratch, using recipes from Central Mexico. We ripen our tomatoes, and fry our own chips and shells. We do this for one reason- to bring you the best-tasting food we can.
Most of you know Lynn Parkhill who came to Gulfport in 1979 to open the first Taco Sombrero on Pass Road. He has been in this business for three decades, and it is his strong commitment to quality that makes our food what it is.
